How can psychotherapy help you?
My Approach
My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that real change comes from within. I don’t claim to be the best psychotherapist or someone who can help anybody and everybody; instead, I believe, humans have the Power of Choice. All they need is a helping hand to transform their unhealthy – harmful thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to healthy ones. REBT serves as a great tool in providing structure to my therapy practice.
I draw inspiration from Indian philosophies, particularly Jain Darshan and the Bhagavad Gita, which offer timeless wisdom on living a fulfilling life. By fostering self-awareness and emotional intelligence, I create an environment where clients can feel safe and embrace vulnerability. This allows them to then challenge their unhealthy patterns and embrace self-acceptance.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
It’s completely okay to wonder about this. If you’re feeling emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure about something in life, therapy can give you clarity. Tanvi’s REBT and Indian philosophy-based approach helps you shift from overthinking to empowered action — step by step.
You can bring in anything that’s on your mind or heart. Some common reasons people come to therapy:
– Stress, anxiety, or overthinking
– Relationship troubles (with partner, family, or self)
– Feeling low, lost, or unmotivated
– Navigating career decisions or transitions
– Self-doubt, anger, or recurring emotional patterns
No topic is too “small” for therapy — if it matters to you, it’s worth exploring.
Here’s a simple breakdown:
Psychologist(like Tanvi): Uses therapy to help manage emotional and mental challenges.
Psychiatrist: A medical doctor who diagnoses and treats mental illness with medication if needed.
Counselor: Offers guidance and support, often for life or career challenges.
Tanvi is a trained psychologist who blends REBT with Indian philosophical tools, making therapy both insightful and deeply personal.
Great question, and one many people hesitate to ask.
If you’re dealing with emotional stress, relationship challenges, overthinking, or just need clarity, it’s usually best to start with a psychologist. That’s where talk therapy like REBT comes in, and it can make a big difference.
You’d typically see a psychiatrist if:
– You’ve already tried therapy and still feel stuck
– You’re dealing with severe mood disorders, hallucinations, or thoughts of self-harm
– You need a diagnosis and possibly medication
Tanvi also guides clients if she feels a psychiatrist’s support would complement therapy. It’s not either/or — sometimes, both work best together.
Yes, and it’s becoming increasingly common across India. Sessions happen over a secure video call. It’s private, flexible, and very effective — especially when you’re comfortable in your own space. Many of Tanvi’s clients from cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, and even abroad, use online therapy regularly.
